Well-led

Governance, management and sustainability
At the assessment on 12 November 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations: The provider told us they had implemented regular practice meetings and annual appraisals were now being conducted.
At the assessment on 12 November 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations: Improvements had been made to the management and oversight of the practice’s systems and processes. Improvements to support of the leadership team had been implemented to ensure that the practice’s systems and processes were followed, and risks managed appropriately. The practice had a governance system which included policies, protocols and procedures that were accessible to members of staff. Improvements had been made to the detail in the recruitment and consent policies. Improvements were made to the processes for identifying and managing risks, issues, and performance. Including the risks associated with fire, legionella and gas safety. Improvements had been made to the systems and processes for learning, quality assurance and continuous improvement. This included undertaking audits according to recognised guidance. The practice had improved auditing systems and ensured all audits undertaken had action plans to drive improvement and the practice had implemented antimicrobial prescribing audits. Some improvements had been made to the systems to review and investigate incidents and accidents. There were records for significant events or near misses. However, we noted further improvements should be made to ensure all follow up actions are recorded, the documentation of these are stored securely and the practice discuss and document learning points. The practice should implement an effective system for recording, investigating and reviewing accidents, incidents and significant events with a view to preventing further occurrences and ensuring that improvements are made as a result.
