Our view of the service
We conducted an assessment of the surgical services with an onsite inspection on the 28th of August 2024. Prior to the inspection we received several concerns regarding the culture of the hospital. In order to provide staff with an opportunity to talk about the concerns in a safe and anonymous way, we set up a staff survey. In addition to the evidence collected on site and additional data requests, we reviewed the results of the survey and reported on these. We spoke with over 100 members of staff and gained feedback from patients and their family members. We reviewed elements of safe, caring and well led key questions. The overall rating for this service was good. We rated safe, caring and well led as good because care and treatment was safe, patients received good care, and the service had effective governance arrangements.
