During an assessment under our new approach
We found the practice had met regulations.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place.
We found minor shortfalls in appropriately assessing and mitigating risks in relation to radiography exposure, security of information, environmental cleaning oversight, cleaning equipment storage arrangements, control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) and training. Immediate action was taken to rectify of the shortfalls we found during our visit.
The practice is in Oxford and provides private orthodontic care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step free access to the practice and disabled persons car parking spaces were available outside the practice.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms.
During the assessment we spoke with 1 orthodontist specialist, 2 orthodontic therapists, 2 orthodontic nurses, a receptionist and the practice manager and area manager.
