Kindness, compassion and dignity
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity and showed compassion.
One person told us, ‘I am a very nervous patient I am always looked after and put at ease’. Others added, ‘Friendly and helpful welcome at reception; sensitive care and treatment with reassurance and full explanations in the surgery; staff always available to give advice or make extra appointments if required’. Also, ‘ I cannot fault (dentist) at all and trust him completely. He's a brilliant dentist’.
Patients said staff were professional, courteous and considerate.
Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.
The provider had carried out patient surveys throughout their time at the service which generated a number of suggestions to improve patient experience, all of which were acted on. These included; improving access to the building and moving a surgery to the ground floor for people with reduced mobility, increasing online presence and website to improve communication and information sharing with patients and moving to digital X-rays to speed up diagnosis and treatment.
People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
