Date of assessment: 20 November to 17 December 2024. Summerville Care Home is a care home registered to provide personal and nursing care for a maximum of 45 people. There were 37 people living at the home at the time of our assessment. This assessment was prompted by a review of information we held about the service. Our overall rating has remained good. We found areas of good practice and some areas of improvement required. For example, improvements were needed with regards to medicines management. Two staff told us there were not enough staff on duty, and staff morale was low. The management team addressed the concerns we raised. The provider had a good learning culture, with accidents and incidents thoroughly reviewed, investigated and analysed to identify trends. People were safeguarded from abuse and staff had received safeguarding training. The provider collaborated effectively with other professionals to deliver coordinated and person-centred care. The environment was safe, with appropriate infection prevention control (IPC) measures in place. Staff were given opportunities to share their views with regards to improvements on the service and seek support from managers.
