Our view of the service
Date of assessment 25 November 2024 to 15 January 2025. The service is a care at home service providing support to people living in their own homes. At the time of our inspection, the service supported 4 people requiring personal care.
At our last inspection, we identified breaches in relation to good governance, fit and proper persons employed and receiving and acting on complaints. At this inspection, improvements had been made, and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations. Regular quality assurance monitoring was being carried out. A system for logging and auditing complaints was in place. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications, and experience. Staff received the training and support they required to deliver high-quality care. People were involved in assessments of their needs and provided with the information they required to give informed consent. People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected people’s privacy and dignity and respected their cultures, beliefs and preferences. They provided flexible support to people in accordance with their wishes. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the service listened and acted on it. People received fair and equal care and treatment. Managers and staff had a shared vision and culture. Managers were knowledgeable and supportive. Staff were able to give feedback and felt they were treated equally. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities. There was a culture of continuous improvement.
The service is registered to support autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the inspection the service was not used by anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. However, we assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it is registered as a specialist service for this population group.
People's experience of this service
People spoke positively about the quality of the care they received. They were fully involved in planning their care and felt safe with the staff who supported them. They received the information they required and understood their rights.
People told us they received good quality care from knowledgeable staff who treated them as individuals and respected their personal preferences. They told us they were treated with kindness and respect by reliable staff who knew them well. They informed us that the service’s approach to matching people with staff who understood their culture and first language, where appropriate, had enhanced their quality of life. People felt able to raise concerns and they were confident action would be taken, and improvements would be made. People considered the service to be well-led. They had regular contact with the registered manager and told us they would recommend the service to others. A person said, “They are very responsive, and any concerns are properly addressed."
