Date of assessment 08 January 2024 to 29 January 2024. Blossoming Hearts Care Agency Ltd is a small domiciliary care agency providing the regulated activity of personal care to people who live in their own homes. At the time of the assessment 16 people were receiving support with personal care. We found 2 breaches in legal regulations in relation to governance at the service and making notifications to CQC. Although the provider did spot checks of staff providing peoples care, there were incomplete quality assurance processes in place to monitor, investigate and learn from accidents and incidents. The provider did not always have a good understanding of what and when they needed to make notifications to CQC. There was not always enough staff to cover calls where 2 staff were needed this meant there were times when there was only 1 staff member present at the calls. The provider was not able to access information requested easily. The service ensured that people had initial assessments. Staff followed infection control principals. The service referred people to other health and social care agencies where people needed additional support such as with equipment in their own homes. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/ or appeals have been concluded.
