Our view of the service
Empingham Medical Centre is a GP practice providing a range of services to approximately 9650 patients in Empingham and the local area.
The practice registered with the Care Quality Commission under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to provide the following regulated activities; diagnostic and screening procedures, family planning, midwifery and maternity services, surgical procedures and treatment of disease, disorder or injury.
The practice is situated in the East Leicester and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ELRICB). The patient population consists of 95% white British, 1.5% Asian and 3.5% from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.
Information published by Public Health England shows that deprivation within the practice population group is ranked 10 (1-10, where 1 is most deprived and 10 is least deprived).
The practice was previously inspected in September 2015 and rated good overall and in the key questions safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
We carried out this assessment to review the practice performance in the key questions safe, effective, responsive and well led. Following this assessment, the practice is rated good overall and for the key questions safe, effective, responsive and well led.
People's experience of this service
The practice’s GP patient survey data was in line with local and national averages and feedback from external stakeholders was positive. Following the review of the practice’s patient feedback, we found that people received safe and effective person-centred care. The practice had assessed and responded to people’s feedback and continued to make improvements.
