Our view of the service
Date of assessment 19 September 2024 to 3 October 2024. The second assessment visit was made to accommodate the registered managers availability. People were receiving individual care with a focus on promoting social interaction and a sense of well-being. People’s health needs were fully assessed and responded to. Staff and the management team knew people well. People were treated with kindness and compassion and staff promoted a friendly homely environment. There was a new management team in place This included a registered manager and operations director, this had been strengthened further with a recent appointment of a deputy manager. The assessment identified some areas for improvement that the management team incorporated within their own improvement plan. Areas needing improvement included incomplete governance records to demonstrate compliance and learning. IT issues impacting on effective communication and a problem accessing finance to maximise people’s well- being. A copy of the services improvement plan was provided to the CQC to demonstrate how these improvements will be made.
People's experience of this service
People and their relatives gave very positive feedback about the service. They told us they were cared for by kind and thoughtful staff, who knew them well. We also used observations of care to assess people’s experience. There was a lovely feel about the service, it was clean, tidy, the rooms were bright, airy, and very personalised. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff team. It was clear there was a focus on people’s well-being and enabling them to enjoy their life.
