Our view of the service

Moreton Hill Care Centre is a nursing home that can provide care for up to 67 older people including people who live with dementia. At the time of our assessment 48 people were living at Moreton Hill Care Centre. Moreton Hill Care Centre is a large building adapted to meet people’s needs which includes the dementia care unit called Memory Lane. There was a range of communal areas people could use, including lounges, a library, a large dining room and courtyard. At the time of the assessment refurbishment work was being carried out on the top floor. People living on Memory Lane unit had been temporarily re-located to the ground floor. The ground floor had been re-decorated to look like the original dementia care unit to support people with the transition. At the last assessment the service was rated Good. During this assessment the rating has not changed. People’s care records outlined their needs, wishes and preferences. We observed enough staff on shift to meet people's needs. The service was well maintained and clean.
