Caring
Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained good. This meant people were treated with kindness, empathy and compassion.

Independence, choice and control
The service promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing. Staff said that there were no restrictions to people visiting the service. Staff said that they offer choice to people in various formats including picture cards, communication aid books and by building relationships. Staff support people to maintain relationships with their friends and families including visits to the service and using video calling technology. We observed people participating in activities both within the home and the community, for example massage and manicures and 1-1 music therapy sessions. One person enjoyed shredding, and they had their own shredding tray. Whilst on-site, people were attending day services and had gone out in the minibus shopping. Another person had been on holiday and was happy to share these photos with us. Another person told us they were planning to go on a cruise with their family.
