Assessing needs
People’s care plans contained information about their individual needs and preferences and their social history. The provider made sure people’s care and treatment was effective by assessing and reviewing their health, care, wellbeing and social needs with them and those who were important to them. The provider completed initial assessments of people’s needs.
The provider had systems in place to review and update care plans as people’s needs changed and relatives were involved where appropriate. People’s communication needs were outlined in their care plans. People’s care plans were person centred and guided staff to support people in line with their preferences. Training records showed staff had received training in equality and diversity which helped them to understand potential discriminatory behaviours.
During our on-site assessment we observed enough care staff to support people.
