Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 10 March 2025. The Laurels and The Limes Care Home is a care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 88 people, some of whom were living with dementia. At the time of our assessment 64 people were using the service. The home is split between 2 buildings. We carried out a responsive assessment to follow up on previous breaches of legislation. At our last assessment we were concerned about managing risks and governance. At this assessment enough improvements had been made, and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations. Whilst we found improvements had been made, there were still some improvements which were required. The service was previously rated requires improvement and the service remains rated requires improvement at this assessment.
People's experience of this service
We received mixed feedback from people and relatives regarding their care and support. Most people told us they were offered choices in relation to meals and personal care, and people told us they felt safe. However, most people and relatives told us more staff were needed and there was a lack of stimulation and activities. Comments included, “I have no concerns, staff are lovely and friendly. My son visits regularly” “I feel [Name] is safe living here.” Whilst others said, “Staff are so busy” and “There’s not many activities here.”
