Governance, management and sustainability
The service had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. Staff told us they were supported to speak up to provide feedback and make suggestions to improve people’s care. They confirmed there was good feedback and they were listened to. A staff member commented, “This is an especially good house. We work as a team and I feel listened to.”
The provider had a structured approach to quality assurance (QA). This included clear guidance for staff on which audits were required and when they should be completed. The QA process consisted of a range of audits and checks on people’s care, including their quality of life, medicines and finances. These had been effective in identifying areas for improvement and ensuring action was taken. Staff supported people to be involved in reviewing their care, including their home, money and relationships with others. Incidents, accidents and safeguarding concerns were regularly analysed to check appropriate action was taken and lessons learnt.
