Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 24 February to 13 March 2025. This service is a domiciliary care service, registered to provide personal care for people living in their own homes in the community. They provide support to people with a range of different needs including older people and those with a physical disability. At the time of the assessment the service was providing the regulated activity of personal care for 8 people.

This is the first assessment for this newly registered service. This assessment was prompted in part due receipt of information relating to incidents which had occurred at the service. The information shared with CQC indicated potential concerns about the standard of care. This assessment examined those risks. We found that the provider had been responsive to issues raised and completed lessons learned.

We reviewed all 5 key questions and rated the provider overall good.

The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks.

People were involved in assessments of their needs. Staff reviewed assessments taking account of people’s communication, personal and health needs. Staff monitored people’s health to support healthy living. Staff made sure people understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent.

People were involved in decisions about their care. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the provider took it seriously and acted on it.

People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. They treated them as individuals and supported their preferences.

Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. Staff felt supported and felt happy in their roles.

People's experience of this service

People and their families were overwhelmingly positive about the quality of their care. They felt safe and were fully involved in planning their care. People and their families said they received high quality care from knowledgeable staff who treated them as individuals. One relative told us, “They are highly professional; they arrive on time and often stay a bit longer than they are meant to.”

People and their families described how staff treated them kindly and made sure any personal care was done sensitively, preserving their privacy and dignity. One relative said, “They have kindness, and they have great dignity when dealing with [Name], you only have to read the notes they write after each visit to realise that this isn’t just a job for them, they really do care.”

People felt able to raise issues and were confident action would be taken and improvements would be made. One relative said, “Early on Monday, I had a slight query and asked [Staff Name]. [Person] was onto it immediately and sorted it straight away."
