Date of assessment 26 June to 31 July 2024 The assessment was prompted due to concerns CQC had received about the service. Unique Care Network Limited is a is a 'supported living' service that provides care and support to people living in shared communal accommodation. The service was registered to support people with dementia, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, People who misuse drugs and alcohol, People with an eating disorder, Sensory Impairment, younger and older people, people with a Learning disabilities or autistic people. At the time of the inspection, the service supported 2 people. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. Records were not detailed and did not include all the required information to ensure staff had guidance and information about people’s needs and risks. Staff were not always recruited safely to ensure they were suitable to work with vulnerable people. Medicines were not always stored safely. Records did not demonstrate how people were supported to achieve their aspirations and goals. The provider has continually failed to improve the systems in place to maintain oversight and drive improvements in the service. People were supported by the number of staff they needed. Staff had been trained and understood how to protect people from abuse.

Relatives felt people were safe, however they said communication with staff and management needed to be improved as information about people’s well being was not always shared. Relatives did not always feel involved in their relatives’ care. Relatives did not always think people were supported to access meaningful opportunities. Relatives said people were now supported by a consistent staff team who had the required skills for their role.
