Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
Within 14 days of this condition coming into effect the registered provider must send to the Care Quality Commission a report detailing the audits they have completed of the areas listed below. This audit must be undertaken by an individual with care management experience. The areas that the written report must address are:
i. identify where care plans, risk assessments and health monitoring assessments are missing for medical conditions and put these in place immediately.
ii. ensure service users have personalised care plans and risk assessments in place detailing what support staff need to provide to meet their individualised needs and risks associated with, but not limited to, service users’ mobility needs, skin integrity, and living with learning disabilities and distress.
iii. management and administration of service users’ medication to ensure medicines are stored and administered safely.
iv. staff recruitment, to ensure safe and robust recruitment procedures are consistently followed, including relevant pre-employment checks
v. monitoring of accidents and incidents, to ensure these are reviewed, thoroughly investigated and prompt action taken to keep service users safe and reported where applicable to CQC in a timely manner.
vi. you must review all Service User care plans to ensure Service Users can and do expect to receive a safe, good quality service that respects their dignity, protects their rights and meets their care needs in line with best practice guidance such as RSRCRC, Real tenancy test and REACH standards ensure escalation to appropriate medical professionals takes place where necessary
vii. ensure staff receive training in the safe administration of medicines and have their competencies checked by a suitable qualified professional.
On the first Monday of every month thereafter, the Registered Provider must send to the Care Quality Commission a report outlining the outcomes of monthly audits. This report must summarise audit findings, the improvement actions to be taken, who is responsible for these and timescales for completion.
