Infection prevention and control
The provider assessed and managed the risk of infection. They detected and controlled the risk of it spreading and shared concerns with appropriate agencies promptly. People felt their home was kept clean and tidy. One person told us, “It’s very clean, the whole place is, they go over it every day.” A refurbishment of people’s bedrooms was planned and was currently in the design stage. The reupholstering of comfy chairs was ongoing to ensure they all remained in good condition. Our observations showed staff wore personal protective equipment in-line with good practice and this helped to reduce the risk of infection. Food hygiene practices were observed, and staff had completed training in both infection prevention and control and food safety.
