At this assessment, the rating has remained good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Independence, choice and control

The service promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing. The registered manager and staff ensured people's care plans had current information to promote their independence in areas such as mobility, communication and how to keep their home environment safe. The registered manager supported people with information about local partners who provided help and guidance. This included, free safety checks from the fire service, access to advocacy and occupational therapy. A visiting health and social care professional told us, “One individual’s goal was to attend medical appointments in person, they have achieved this with staff support and are now booking appointments independently.”
